Born in the lower east side of Manhattan, raised in Queens and living in brooklyn is what made who we call today "Jay.k." Growing up as any ordinary kid going to school, playing sports and bugging out daily, he picked up music along the way. Music has been a big part of his life. He was born with the talent of making music, and he has developed even more talents along the way. As a kid he used carry a notebook with him everywhere he went, and he would write songs about his ambience. Many talents aside from making his own music come together to make who Jay.k. is today. Being Dominican and growing up around his family and friends who party all the time, he developed dancing as one of his talents. He has always participated in "dance crews" in Brooklyn and has preformed and made scenes in parties, school stage and regular dance classes. Another talent that makes a big part of who he is, is his knowledge in playing instruments. He grew up going to church, and there he used to play the drums and piano. The amazing thing about it is that he didn't have anyone to teach him how to play these instruments. He taught himself with a piano that he has at home. He likes making his own beats on the piano and writing his lyrics to them. One day as he was heading out of church he met three other artists that have contributed to who he is today. Their names were Djaysu, Dthomass and V.T. Jay.k.- " As I saw these guys preform, I felt their energy. Their potential was over the roof." These guys and Jay.k. came together to make what is called "Vakaneria Musik". In making Vakaneria Music, Djaysu & Dthomass linked Jay.k. to two of his biggest influence in what is Music. These two influence are Elowes(L.O.S), who is signed, and his sister Henacee. In meeting Elowes and Henacee, Jay.k. was astonished. He just saw that these two people have what it takes to be a star. From making music videos, to taking pictures and all the way back to the mic again. Here he got involved in what they call L.I.G, a movement created by Elowes. Jay.k.-"Now what is left is to give the people what they want. Something different to their ears."
